Management Theory and Practice for Theory - myassignmenthelp

Question: Examine about theManagement Theory and Practice for Strategic Choice Theory. Answer: As opined by AM Vermeulen et al. (2016), the vital decision hypothesis of the association decides the reality heads assume a significant job in the associations by settling on significant decisions in a domain, which is considered as a unique situation. This hypothesis gave an option in contrast to the way that the people are required to settle on specific decisions in their residency in the association, that affect the smooth working of the association (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The vital decisions of the association structure a significant part in the hierarchical learning process, which needs to adjust to the outer condition just as inside political state of the association. This hypothesis centers around the supervisors reactions to the regular questions to the association. There are a few instances of key decisions being made in the everyday working of the associations (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The senior administrators of the firm have solid effect on the dynamic procedure of the association. The key decision hypothesis considers the applicable powers present in the outer condition of the firm that affects the worker connections (Whittington 2014). There has been a gigantic change in the outer condition of the associations that implements the supervisors to adjust their business procedures. The different choices are sifted and checked in the event that they are reliable with the convictions, values just as ways of thinking of the association. The administrative decisions are inserted in the institutional just as chronicled structures of the association. The supervisors need to decide the key achievability of the different alternatives and check whether they are really conceivable in the authoritative setting (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The vital decisions of the firm rely upon the hierarchical choices just as the present force appropriation in the firm. The relationship nature between the administration offices, associations and outsi de associations likewise decides the idea of the key decisions in the association. The key decisions of the association are dictated by the modern relations forms just as results that are constantly developing just as receptive to the hierarchical reactions (Burke 2017). The overall significance of the natural factors just as reactions varies over a reliable timeframe, yet they generally affect the association. The work or the market changes independently affect the impact on the authoritative decisions (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The more extensive origination of the institutional structure identifying with the different parts of the modern relations compares to the different exercises of the administration, government associations and the work (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The administrators need to settle on successful vital decisions in regards to the everyday issues of the legislature. The center level administration needs to deal with the aggregate bartering process in the association, which would help in better dynamic of the firm (Foss and Hallber g 2016). The vital decision hypothesis helps in the assurance of the between connections between the various exercises of the firm and keeps up textures between all work levels. This hypothesis centers around the different degrees of vital choices that impact the smooth working of the firm (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). There can be changes in the serious condition of the firm that can likewise have a changing buyer request, in which the chiefs need to take satisfactory authoritative choices (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). There can be a sharp increment in the serious weights of the firm and the different creation procedures of the firm. The vital decision hypothesis holds incredible significance for the different operational procedures of the firm. The qualities of this hypothesis are worried about the way that the associations can have diverse sort of choices when they need to attempt vital authoritative choices (Tokman, Richey and Deitz 2016). This sort of hypothesis works in the automatic just as negative criticism design in which the association is having the option to accomplish the hierarchical objectives. The hierarchical examination is frequently done to the full scale level of the association so that there is most extreme miniaturized scale decent variety. As remarked by Cicmil et al. (2017), the deterministic speculations of the board center around the connection between the associations and their outer just as interior conditions. The distinctive deterministic hypotheses, for example, institutional hypothesis, asset reliance hypothesis or the various forms of the neo-institutional hypothesis helps in clarifying the reality those associations are shaped by different institutional conditions (Floudas 2013). For instance, the populace nature hypothesis helps in the assessment of the reality why the associations are coming up short and why there are a few associations that succeed. This likewise clarifies the reality all the associations are not presented to similar variables and consequently they have diverse development designs in the association (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The institutional speculations of the administration underline on the reality the associations need homogeneity, coherence and assent are significant for the formation of casual just as formal relations inside the associations (Geisler and Wickramasinghe 2015). In spite of this reality, the associations need to react to the distinctive institutional condition of the association. The supervisors need to deal with the different factors in the institutional condition, for example, inside exercises of the association just as the different exercises of the outside gatherings (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The chiefs need to concentrate on the grass roots majority rule structure of the organization the board and different prompt impacts. This is significant for settling on significant choices for the firm (Murphy, Soroudi and Keane 2016). The supervisors need to comply with the different guideline, decides and standards so that there is successful cooperation (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). This would likewise help in the early achievement of the authoritative objectives. This hypothesis centers around the way that the hierarchical change is because of the coercive weights from the different institutional condition (Dubey, Gunasekaran and Ali 2015). The institutional cooptation can happen through both formal just as casual components. The proper cooptation may happen through the procedure, which would adequately tackle the issues of retaining new components into the administration procedure of the association (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The quality of this hypothesis lies in the way that associations can participate in their own working, which is regularly autonomous of the resolve of the chiefs. The populace environment hypothesis underscores on the way that there are sure factors which are applicable setting because of which there are a few associations which come up short and there are different associations that succeed (Naveh and Lieberman 2013). This hypothesis examinations the impact of populace attributes on the hierarchical results. This hypothesis indicates the way that the associations are normally controlled by the degree of their outer condition. This hypothesis indicates on the way that the hierarchical working are dictated by the outer condition. The effective associations are supposed to be best fitting in the earth while the inverse is valid for the associations which come up short (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The associations are supposed to be going through a few phases, for example, variety, determination and maintenance (Rockwood 2015). For instance, the free wine creation can be identified with the endurance paces of the populace. The variety phases of the association are reliant on the way that the associations attempt to execute different new procedures inside the populace. This phase of the association is portrayed by the way that the association is comprised of adaptable and free relations (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The associations are supposed to be created over tome and with time they become all the more firmly together and they are likewise versatile to change (Merow et al. 2014). The determination procedure is considered as the procedure in which the associations are being chosen by nature. This procedure favors the associations which would be forming into strong authoritative structures which become hard to change after some time (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). The maintenance is considered as the phase in which the associations with specific structures thrive while the others end. At the point when the associations arrive at this stage, at that point they are described by firm connections (Hill, Jones and S chilling 2014). The associations face various types of imperatives which constrain them from changing their structures just as adjust them to the outside condition. In such cases, there is an extensive decrease in the individual hierarchical change just as adaption. The qualities of the deterministic hypothesis lies in the way that the associations can best use the positive patterns of the outside condition just as interior hierarchical condition (Gibson 2014). This hypothesis underscores the way that the authoritative results are not dependant on the immediate activities of the supervisors and rather they rely upon the hierarchical condition. The authoritative setting isn't just identified with the situational factors in the outside condition, yet the inward elements of the association additionally influences the hierarchical activities (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014). For instance, if the association observes the way that there is an expansion in the

The Emulation of Art ; Life

In all strolls of regular day to day existence, exercises and encounters are gathered in wants to utilize them in future situations. Numerous authors since forever have said they have utilized these events in their work. At different point in life circumstances emerge in which choices must be settled on and once the decision is being done, there comes a moment that one can't return and change course. This failure to return one’s way is known as the â€Å"Point of No Return. † In different examples the utilization of geology may not exclusively be seen actually yet additionally fill in as a metaphor. There are likewise periods when detachment affects the conduct of a person. Final turning point, utilization of geographic environmental factors and disconnection are ideas utilized in the entirety of the accompanying works: Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse (Now), William Faulkner’s â€Å"A Rose for Emily† (A Rose), and Tim O’Brien’s  "The Things They Carried† (Things). In these three pieces one will see not just the thoughts of â€Å"Point of No Return† (PNR), geographic environmental factors, and confinement, however the idea of craftsmanship copying life. Chief, PNR arrives in an assortment of ways for every one of the numerous characters we experience in these adventures. In Now, we see Willard’s PNR towards the finish of the film after he has shown up at Kurtz’s compound. As he sits in the dimness, Chef’s executed head is pushed into his lap. Without Chef to help him, Willard acknowledges he is genuinely all alone. So as to escape Kurtz’s world flawless, he should finish his strategic. On account of Emily’s steward in â€Å"A Rose,† the PNR is delineated after the passing of Emily. â€Å"The negro met the first of the women at the front entryway and let them in, with their quieted, sibilant voices and their brisk, inquisitive looks, and afterward he disa ppeared. He strolled directly through the house and out the back and was not seen once more. † (Faulkner, pg. 7) The servant knows about reality of Emily’s dull life which will before long be presented to all and wouldn't like to be in the region when it occurs. For Lt. Cross in â€Å"Things†, the PNR happens following Ted Lavender being shot and murdered. â€Å"It wouldn’t help Lavender, he realized that, yet starting here on he would comport himself as an officer. † (O’Brien, 13) After this lamentable occasion, a change in the Lt. ’s demeanor towards the rest of the men happens. On the morning after Ted Lavender kicked the bucket, First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross hunched at the base of his foxhole and consumed Martha’s letters. † (O’Brien, 12) His sentiments of adoration for Martha have additionally been supplanted by a feeling taking after displeasure. Given these models, PNR is available in every single one of these records. The utilization of geology can be deciphered from various perspectives. As the men in Now advance into the profundities of the wilderness, the Nyung River bit by bit gets limited. Gradually the troopers are taken out individually. The gathering starts to lessen, as does the width of the waterway.Another utilization of geographic environmental factors is found in Faulkner’s work. His depiction of Emily’s home and its area exhibit the similitude in her demeanor. â€Å"But carports and cotton gins had infringed and destroyed even the august names of that area; just Miss Emily’s house was left, lifting its difficult and teasing rot over the cotton wagons and the gas siphons - a blemish among blemishes. † (Faulkner, pg. 1) Although present day innovation is advancing all around her conventional neighborhood, and the South so far as that is concerned, she tenaciously declines to adapt. The topography is part into both exacting and allegorical routes in â€Å"Things. † â€Å"They conveyed the land itself. Vietnam, the spot, the turf a fine orange-red residue that secured their boots and uniform and faces. They conveyed the sky. The entire climate, they conveyed it, the dampness, the rainstorm, the smell of growth and rot, every last bit of it, they conveyed gravity. † (O’Brien, pg. 7) Not just did the officers convey the dirt of Vietnam on their boots however they conveyed the encounters of Vietnam in their psyches. The entirety of the substantial and optimistic parts of being in a war-torn nation are what these spirits carried.Geography utilized by these narrators make a world which not exclusively can be seen however be felt profound inside. In conclusion, the third idea found in every one of these works is disconnection. A savvy man once stated, â€Å"The genuine character of an individual is uncovered once they think nobody is viewing. † (A. Mancha) This gets clear in NOW when the three residual men have reached Kurtz’s staying. Before the locals, Kurtz is God-like in his mien. Notwithstanding, inside the sanctuary and away from his admirers, Willard sees what lies underneath Kurtz, a man. A man who wonderfully composes the revulsions of what he has seen, done and become.Willard gets aware of Kurtz’s want and expectation of his own passing. â€Å"Everybody needed me to do it, him the greater part of all. I felt like he was up there, hanging tight for me to remove the agony. He simply needed to go out like a trooper, standing, dislike some poor, squandered, cloth assed rebel. Indeed, even the wilderness needed him dead, and that is who he truly took his requests from at any rate. † Kurtz knows about Willard’s crucial invites it. In â€Å"A Rose,† the isolation of Emily from society, implemented by her dad â€Å"clutching a horsewhip† (Faulkner, pg3), assumed a significant job in Emily’s absence of enthusiastic and mental turn of e vents. On a discolored overlaid easel before the chimney stood a colored pencil picture of Miss Emily’s father. †(Faulkner, pg. 2) Although Emily is of grown-up age she despite everything stays a lot of like a youngster as she utilizes pastels to make her father’s representation. The disengagement seen in â€Å"Things† comes in type of the organization of the soldiers. These men are taken from all that they know, from the families they love to the atmospheres they know about. â€Å"The things they conveyed were to a great extent controlled by need. † (O’Brien, pg. ) The men have supplanted these components with things each officer regards fundamental for endurance. This isn't constrained to weapons and food yet additionally pictures, books and different keepsakes from home. As should be obvious, Coppola, Faulkner, and O’Brien’s works reflect dynamic and solid ideas of craftsmanship mimicking life. By utilizing PNR, topography and detachment, these men had the option to represent their focuses on a profound and wretched level. The effect these works have had on society are priceless and as a result of their immortal nature will keep on affecting specialists consistently.

So what exactly is it all about? Nature refers to all of the genes and hereditary factors that influence who we areâ€"from our physical appearance to our personality characteristics.Nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are, including our early childhood experiences, how we were raised, our social relationships, and our surrounding culture. Even today, different branches of psychology often take a one versus the other approach. For example, biological psychology tends to stress the importance of genetics and biological influences. Behaviorism, on the other hand, focuses on the impact that the environment has on behavior. In the past, debates over the relative contributions of nature versus nurture often took a very one-sided approach, with one side arguing that nature played the most important role and the other side suggesting that it was nurture that was the most significant. Today, most experts recognize that both factors play a critical role.?? Not only that, but they also realize that nature and nurture interact in important ways all throughout life. A Closer Look at the Nature vs. Nurture Debate Do genetic or environmental factors have a greater influence on your behavior? Do inherited traits or life experiences play a greater role in shaping your personality? The nature versus nurture debate is one of the oldest issues in psychology. The debate centers on the relative contributions of genetic inheritance and environmental factors to human development. Some philosophers such as Plato and Descartes suggested that certain things are inborn, or that they occur naturally regardless of environmental influences. Nativists take the position that all or most behaviors and characteristics are the results of inheritance. Advocates of this point of view believe that all of our characteristics and behaviors are the result of evolution. Genetic traits handed down from parents influence the individual differences that make each person unique. Other well-known thinkers such as John Locke believed in what is known as tabula rasa, which suggests that the mind begins as a blank slate. According to this notion, everything that we are and all of our knowledge is determined by our experience. Empiricists take the position that all or most behaviors and characteristics result from learning. Behaviorism is a good example of a theory rooted in empiricism. The behaviorists believe that all actions and behaviors are the results of conditioning. Theorists such as John B. Watson believed that people could be trained to do and become anything, regardless of their genetic background. Examples of Nature vs.  Nurture For example, when a person achieves tremendous academic success, did they do so because they are genetically predisposed to be successful or is it a result of an enriched environment? If a man abuses his wife and kids, is it because he was born with violent tendencies or is it something he learned by observing his own parents behavior? A few examples of biologically determined characteristics (nature) include certain genetic diseases, eye color, hair color, and skin color. Other things like life expectancy and height have a strong biological component, but they are also influenced by environmental factors and lifestyle. An example of a nativist theory within psychology is Chomskys concept of a language acquisition device (or LAD).?? ?According to this theory, all children are born with an instinctive mental capacity that allows them to both learn and produce language. Some characteristics are tied to environmental influences. How a person behaves can be linked to influences such as parenting styles and learned experiences. For example, a child might learn through observation and reinforcement to say please and thank you. Another child might learn to behave aggressively by observing older children engage in violent behavior on the playground. One example of an empiricist theory within psychology is Albert Banduras social learning theory. According to the theory, people learn by observing the behavior of others. In his famous Bobo doll experiment, Bandura demonstrated that children could learn aggressive behaviors simply by observing another person acting aggressively. Even today, research in psychology often tends to emphasize one influence over the other. In biopsychology, for example, researchers conduct studies exploring how neurotransmitters influence behavior, which emphasizes the nature side of the debate. In social psychology, researchers might conduct studies looking at how things such as peer pressure and social media influence behaviors, stressing the importance of nurture. How Nature and Nurture Interact What researchers do know is that the interaction between heredity and environment is often the most important factor of all. Kevin Davies of PBSs Nova described one fascinating example of this phenomenon. Perfect pitch is the ability to detect the pitch of a musical tone without any reference. Researchers have found that this ability tends to run in families and believe that it might be tied to a single gene. However, theyve also discovered that possessing the gene alone is not enough to develop this ability. Instead, musical training during early childhood is necessary to allow this inherited ability to manifest itself.?? Height is another example of a trait that is influenced by nature and nurture interaction. A child might come from a family where everyone is tall, and he may have inherited these genes for height. However, if he grows up in a deprived environment where he does not receive proper nourishment, he might never attain the height he might have had he grown up in a healthier environment. Contemporary Views of Nature vs.  Nurture Throughout the history of psychology, however, this debate has continued to stir up controversy. Eugenics, for example, was a movement heavily influenced by the nativist approach. Psychologist Francis Galton, a cousin of the naturalist Charles Darwin, coined both the terms nature versus nurture and eugenics  and believed that intelligence was the result of genetics. Galton believed that intelligent individuals should be encouraged to marry and have many children, while less intelligent individuals should be discouraged from reproducing. Today, the majority of experts believe that both nature and nurture influence behavior and development. However, the issue still rages on in many areas such as in the debate on the origins of homosexuality and influences on intelligence. While few people take the extreme nativist or radical empiricist approach, researchers and experts still debate the degree to which biology and environment influence behavior. Increasingly, people are beginning to realize that asking how much heredity or environment influence a particular trait is not the right approach. The reality is that there is not a  simple way to disentangle the multitude of forces that exist. These influences include genetic factors that interact with one another, environmental factors that interact such as social experiences and overall culture, as well as how both hereditary and environmental influences intermingle. Instead, many researchers today are interested in seeing how genes modulate environmental influences and vice versa.

The Canterbury Tales is a bunch of good stories and a snapshot of life in the Middle Ages. Chaucer places the characters on a pilgrimage which is a good setting. They exchanged tales to pass the time along so that everyone in Canterbury would tell people and it came back to London. Chaucer is telling a story on how life was in Canterbury and is using a popular literary device that frames stories. NUNS Nuns are women who served the church were called nuns. Their physical description that they showed you was a shy smile, they have grey eyes, elegant nose, and wore long gowns or tunics. Over the tunic was a scapular which was a piece of cloth with an opening for the head. Some nuns wore a chain around their necks Its also two different types of nuns but this nuns personality was sentimental, pleasant, they have a tender heart, friendly, and well mannered. In the middle Ages, it was common for a woman to become a nun. Nuns prayed, taught young girls, and cared for the poor. They also lived in a small convents which wasnt fair. The daily life of nuns in the Middle Ages was based on poverty, chastity, and obedience they choose the life to live and work under strict routines and were discipline in their life. Nuns were part of the clergy which is the order of rank following the pope who are higher. The nun was introduced as a prioress that always smiles and sang the service divine. She goes to great lengths to show others what she wishes to be, rather than who she is. Chaucer uses the word counterfeit to describe the Nun, whose real name is Madame Eglantine, and indeed much about the Nun is downright false. He describes her as someone who helps herself before she helps others. He also detailed her as if she likes to eat a lot stating she is a little on the bigger side. CONCLUSION The conclusion is the nuns in this tale arent who they seem to be their worldly knowledge for the family and they were concerned for the loved ones. Thus women in reality enable the family to run smoothly and the menfolk to dominate with ease since their worldly needs have been fulfilled by the women. The various women in the tales of the monk similarly touch upon the secular aspect of life. The women are biblical and historical, each of them acting by their impulses and priorities in life. They were in a clergy which Chaucer makes fun of those people involved with the church.

It serves as a guide for the feasibility of the developed system. 2. 1. Review of Related Literature 2. 1. 1. Foreign Literature Mr. Richard T. , the Marketing Executive of the Royal Paradise Hotel, has observed that Now, we can easily deal with hundreds of travel agents and corporate clients. In fact, Pelican System has indeed helped us in reviewing productivity, through its sophisticated design. Deciding room rate and allotments has become easier as the result of not having to go through hundreds of paper documents. Not forgetting to mention is the prompt and ready after sales technical support by the team of Pelican Systems staffs. Pelican System has concluded contracts with hundreds of travel agents, in a hassle-free negotiation: instead, what you get is a very fast and low-cost transaction. Mr. Richard T. adds, We welcome all agents worldwide, when they wish to register and gain access to our special rates. With Pelican we are now able to provide an equal allotment opportunity to all 11 agents, regardless of size, and provide them with instant confirmation†. From the article the proponent study use that it has a similarity on the objectives of the research study. Because both have its general purpose which is to enhanced the efficiency of the system from manual to computerize specifically on reservation of JISB Emperor Hotel. According to the Pelican System, Pelican Central Reservation System (CRS) is an Internet-based hotel reservation management system designed to manage all types of hotel bookings, whether made directly by guests or through travel agents and corporate clients. For internet users (direct guests) Pelican will provide instant confirmation of reservations made through the hotel web site, and will notify the hotel’s reservation department though automatically generated e-mail messages. Pelican system provides a secure link to agents and clients, allowing hotels to distribute confidential trade rates to pre-authorized recipients, and to share allotments among many agents and clients on a â€Å"first-come-first-served† basis. Each agent or client accesses the system directly from the hotel’s own web site with a unique login/password combination, allowing the hotel to assign each user to a specific group, and to determine the information and privileges each group will receive. With Pelican system, the hotel has complete control at all times, and can easily monitor activity through instantly generated summaries and full reports. 12 Since the developed system is user-friendly system in which it is easy to use and to practice, in that sense, the developed system mentioned in the article is parallel. The system is user friendly in which the proponents are aiming to develop. The system from the article used internet to achieve their goals while the system of the proponents will uses computerized. Based on the article posted in Pelican system which the researcher searched at http://www. elicansystem. com/news/20041028. html and, The Royal Paradise Hotel, located in Patong Beach, Phuket begins to enjoy the ease of paperless contracts concluded with hundreds of travel agents and corporate clients across the world. The switch to paperless has finally come true, through the magic of the Internet! Pelican System has developed an automated system of online contractin g with agents and corporate clients; online contracting uses an Internet-based database application to accept and instantly confirm reservations made through a hotels own website. In contrast to a standard online reservation system, Pelican online contracting of the agent or corporate client requesting a reservation uses a unique hotel-supplied login /password to confirm their identities, which makes the transaction legally binding. The instantconfirmation and secure transmission capabilities of an online contracting system enable hotel to share room allotments among a large number of agents and clients, accepting reservations on a first-come, first-served basis. According to PEGGY L. PUGH with an article entitled â€Å"SELECTING THE RIGHT 13 BILLING SYSTEM†, which was publish on September 1998 payments are made more efficient with software that includes electronic payment recons elation capabilities allowing the practice, for examples to part 6-50 page explanation to benefit in a matter of minutes versus the hours it could take the manual payments posting and reconciliation. Computerized and billing system gives an automatic calculation of contracted adjustment. It gives an accurate report of the clients daily and monthly balances. It has the capability to print out the actual payment posted on the computer. According to Mary Shaub President of medical consulting based in Philadelphia with an article entitled â€Å"Billing on Shoestring Budget† publish on December 2000. Clinical training in medicine does not emphasize how to collect money but rather how to render service to generate the revenue. The article focuses on the â€Å"How to of billing and collection of money. It will encapsulate the essential components of an effective billing system that if followed can operate on shoestring budget. . 1. 2. Local Literature According in the article MC Mountain Home Apartelle provides guests with a convenient way of booking rooms at the hotel by integrating a reservation system on its website http://www. mcmountaintagaytay. com/. The hotel reservation of MC Mountain Home Apartelle in Tagaytay, Philippines has just gotten easier and faster with their new reservation system on their website. By simply going onl ine, guests can book the room of 14 their choice in a matter of minutes. Through their new service, guests need only click on the Reserve Now button on the Tagaytay hotels website to view room rates, features and availability over a 14-day period. Upon specifying their chosen rooms and duration of stay, guests will get instant confirmation of their reservation via email immediately after paying the required 10% deposit using WorldPay. The secure system makes the process of booking accommodations at the MC Mountain Home Apartelle safer and more convenient for guests. The article mentioned is related to proponents developed system. As mentioned above the easier and faster of the hotel reservation system allows the company to gain customers instantly. And the proponents developed system envisions the same thing, even though it is not totally like from the reservation system using by the MC Mountain Home Apartelle. But the integrity of the developed system is to provide better services such as to fasten the transactions, into which the hotel is engaged, to gained customer is absolutely out there. According to Lualhati S. Morales with an article entitled â€Å"BILLING SYSTEM of Assessor’s Office† department head of assessors, using a computerized billing system for the effective and efficient system is doing tedious and respective manual processing and reporting for faster and efficient data retrieval of real property record as well as the reduce the cost in term of money and man power needed during periodic general recursion. 15 2. 2. Review of Related Studies 2. 2. 1. Foreign Studies According to the study made by Richard Dunn, Director of IT, Good-fellow Cambridge, the processing of such encoded e-mail order is for simpler and fast and they have therefore been able to offer customer a discount for ordering via the web. They believe that at present this put them ahead of their competitors. Using cable web technology has enables them to keep full day-to-day control of their website without the added complexity of having to use a different database product. The study stated above is lightly similar to the developed system of the proponents in the sense that both are integrating such transactions which will benefit the persons involving the transaction. According to Mr. Dunn, using web in their business transactions helps for a fast ordering of customer. The computerized system has proven that the process of billing and reservation in the hotel fasten. They just differ in a way of achieving their goals in which the study above will be using web while the proponents developed system will be using computerized one. Computerization of the company’s transactions brings so many in terms of the transactions that they doing. The main purpose of computerization is which will help the company a lot in anyways, especially for the reservation to the hotel. 16 Easy Webrez Tour provides internet reservation for a clients and members. They include customization to brand a system for the organization, optional module for reservation managers and real-time credit processing module. This system provides a central place to store all reservation center information and allows simultaneous access for company owners, reservation managers and online visitors. Booking. com is a part of Priceline. com is Europe’s leading online hotel reservation agency. Booking. com set a solution to attract unique visitors via the Internet from both leisure and business markets worldwide. Based on the being implemented by Booking. com’s market leading growth, the company currently employs over 1000 professionals to ensure the best possible online services and support. They committed to offering an informative, user-friendly website with competitive rates. They provide business and leisure travelers worldwide with a pleasant, efficient and cost-effective way to book hotel accommodations. They are keeping 100000 room nights every day that provides a cost-effective commission based model, a network of over 4500 distribution partners and a personalized account management service to help optimize the revenue of the hotels. When a situation arise the required the purchase of new information, Booking. com decided to incorporate the web into its reservation system. The performance of Booking. com includes no reservation fee; they do not charge any booking fees, administration fees or cancelation fees. Their reservation system is secure and the credit card and personal information is encrypted. They work to high standards and guarantee privacy. 17 This study is somehow related or similar with the proponents study in terms of giving importance’s of the computerization of such system for a better performance of the company in terms of the transaction that they are doing which resulted into a faster transaction. Computerization of the company’s transaction brings so many benefits to the company in the terms of the transaction that they performance. 2. 2. 2. Local Studies Based on the study entitled â€Å"Computerized Billing and Reservation System with SMS Inquiry for South Red Palm Hotel Corporation† by Helbert H. Nanez, Rechelle M. Asis and Ivy Christine Segui which is an example of Online Reservation which aimed to develop computerized transaction processing system accommodation and reservation of guest to replaced the existing manual system of running a big establishment as the â€Å"South Red Palm Hotel Corporation†. It was design that their system would improve the hotel’s transaction by the terms of speed, efficiency and data integrity. In general, existing system of â€Å"South Red Palm Hotel† relies to the manual means of transaction processing which resulted to problems such as time onsuming, prone to human error and costly. According to Mr. Chester Atienza and Ms. Jennifer Rances, Enverga University, March 1999, â€Å" A Proosed Computerized Aided-Billing and Monitoring System of the Halina Hotel â€Å". The study aimed to be aware and apprehensive of the step-by-step procedure being applied in the present system as well as to specify the problems normally enco untered by the people who are involved in the present system. The authors conclude that the problems 18 enabled the management to have fast and efficient way of transaction unlike in their current transaction, which is manual. According to Wishiel S. Chua, Aldwin N. Ilumin and Marlyn M. Nierva of Enverga University, March 2001, â€Å"A Proposed Graphical User-Interface Based Medical Record billing System for Tayabas Community Hospital†. The study endeavor to develop a system that would immediately furnish them with a reliable, accurate information and faster approach in processing customer requirements that would lessen their problems in dealing with the patient through the help of this proposed system to help them to be up to date to the changes brought about by the new world of technologies. Terrence C. Baluyut, Prince V. Hizo, Jose Narciso C. Lapuz, Ariel B. Quinto and Henry M. Joriano, AMA Computer College, Makati, 1999 â€Å"A Development of an Online Inquiry and Reservation System for All SM Cinema†. It has been found out that current inquiry of the company inhibits its potential to expand its customer based because it’s offers limited services and does not promote in theaters full because of its boundaries. The proponent of the study concludes that the company should consider all the possible means of obtaining connections with their customers. This system will provide additional services to the customers and it offers information regarding theaters. The study stated above is similar to the proponents study because of several problems 19 in accommodations and reservation in the hotel. Their transaction as based a manual work hotel personnel and monitoring of accommodations for outgoing and ingoing guests was misleading. Furthermore, personnel cannot provide and use reservation information past enough or the client’s satisfaction. These are also the problems encountered by JISB Emperor Hotel. 2. 3 Justification of the Present Study The related literature and studies gathered by the proponents are relatively related to the proponents project because it has common things that they wanted to happen to their project to support online reservation and billing system of JISB Emperor Hotel so they got idea from it. Several foreign sites on the net were also visited by the proponents to search for essential studies about the computerized system in a business is really a great help. Like the proponents project that have wanted to have the JISB Emperor Hotel Computerized Billing System and Online Reservation because it will help them to save data in a more organized way that would save their money buying cabinets for their files and to have to have an accurate computations that may lead them to bankruptcy when not properly done. It will also provide fast and great service for their customers, too. Like the other studies, the proponents also aim to develop a computerized billing system and online reservation. Like one of the thesis and researchers will include updating of customers records and payments at the same time will do the computerized billing and online reservation to become more accurate in giving the data and calculating the payment 20 Chapter III Research Methodology The proponents gathered information that will be used for the implementation and development of the developed system. Acquiring ideas and information are important in designing and developing. 3. 1. Research Design: The proponents used a descriptive research method. It describes what the study is all about, its current condition, practices and processes. This method shows how to gather information. The proponents used this method because it gives a clear view on what are needed to fulfill, its significance in relation to the study Descriptive research method, creative research, and library method is used by the proponents in gathering information. By using these methods, proponents determined the functionality and the problem being encountered using the existing system of the company. The proponents provided set of questionnaires and distributed to the 25 respondents consisting of company staffs and customers. The retrieved questionnaires with answers were analyzed. All the data and information that has been collected will be interpreted in the form of graph and tables. 21 3. 2. Research Locale The proponents conducted the study in the town of Lucena where the JISB Emperor Hotel situated. The company is located along Merchan Street corner Evangelista Street Lucena City. 3. 3. Data Gathering The proponents used interviews, observation, questionnaires, and internet, library methods tools in gathering information. These tools were relevant to formulate the study for the proposed system. Interview: The proponents conducted several interviews to the officers of the JISB Emperor Hotel. This data gathering method is the most common tool to gather information and used by most the researchers, which for proponents is the easiest way or method in collecting information. Observation: The proponents made an observation in the JISB Emperor Hotel to gather the information’s needed and to be able know the problem that they are encountering. The proponents conducted further observation that gave solutions to the problem of JISB Emperor Hotel. 22 Internet: The proponents used the internet as a source of information that may help and give some related issue or information in the study of several sites visited by the proponents. The proponents selected the site that would give an exact information or knowledge with the same system. Library Method: This kind of method used by the proponents is a method used by the proponents is a method I which the proponents that will support the proponents study. Questionnaires: Set of well designed questionnaires was prepared by the proponents in gathering information which was answered by different respondents. 3. 4. Data Processing The proponents gathered and analyzed the required information. In gathering information, the proponents used a descriptive research method. One of the categories of a descriptive method is the questionnaires to be answered by the hotel management and staff, and customer to be able to predict the adaptability and affectivity of the developed system. The proponents provided sets of questionnaires answered by the respondents 23 composing of hotel staffs and customers. The surveys made by the proponents have the purpose to determine the affectivity and the adaptability of the developed system and to be able to know the respondents opinion for upgrading the current system of the JISB Emperor Hotel. The proponents had 25 respondents, out of those 25, 10 are hotel staffs and the remaining 15 are customers or the possible to become a customer. The proponents get the average number of respondents who answered for each questions. To be able to get the average number of respondents, the proponents sum the total number of answers for each question to determine the mean. The collected data carefully analyzed, computed interpreted which were shown in graphs and table in which the proponents get the number and percentage of the respondents who answered from the questionnaires.
